The Irony

This is probably one of my favorite things to see on my way to vegas or St. George. It is so randomly placed and so ironically done. On the other side of the road there is an abundance of red sand and flat landscapes. No where near is there water to be honest. So why is there a light house? haha because it can be :) Ironic? Very. Beautiful? Absolutely.

TOTALLY FUN STORY BEHIND THIS ONE :)

so its the night of the 5th and we had no fireworks :(
It was sad. So my amazing Sisiter (Gigi) and my brother in law (Justin)
went and bought a whole bunch :D
they made me a very happy gal! (love you guys!)
Anyways, we were already playing basketball in front of my house and they came over and the guys were playing to so we all just sat down to watch the show. That is, all the family sat down. Matt j.,Conner j., Matt B., and my lovely brother decided they wanted to help justin set them off. Boy do I wish I could add more pictures. They set off alot of "flowers" and "flashers" it was great! Then... they decided to light the bigger ones..... oh boy.
they set off a bunch of those and being the "men" that they are, they decided to jump through them. Haha! I sprinted to get the camera right before they started. It was a blast! At first I was just clicking away while they jumped but then they started to notify me and we got better shots :) More pictures like this are on facebook! wooohooo!

first step

I can't remember who said it but they said,
"A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step, so watch your step."
I think it was Jeffery R. Holland.
Anyways, I was just looking through my pictures and this one reminded me of that.
That quote holds more truth than I thought. One step could throw us off our path, lead us in the wrong direction. I was thinking, 'how do we get back on this path if we don't even know we took a wrong step?'
I came up with the conclusion that we just need to follow the holy ghost and our gut instinct. In brother Holland's talk, he spoke about being worthy of having that holy spirit with us. With out it, we are lost. It is our guide and our comforter. He will not lead us away from the path of true happiness. Man, I don't think anyone wants to be lost. So, lets all watch our first step on our journey of a thousand miles. :)

Another post! :) this is fun! well, this was just one of the random trips I took. I like how it looks. haha.
I like the abstract angle of it. Right after I took this picture I moved right on so there isn't much of a story to it.... the bench with out a story. oh well, its still pretty I think :)

Deer trail

I'm at home today so I just thought i'd put something on my blog :)
well, this picture I took up at Sanchez cabin. That place is truely awesome! I woke up early and decided to go off on my own and take pictures. It was great! I know you guys are gonna be jealous when I tell you how I found this place.... I followed a trail that DEERS had made in the snow :D it was so cool! The trees look sort of scary but the sun is sa-weet!

I actually took this picture a along time ago. Ha ha its actually a pretty fun story.

Justin, Nathaly, and I decided to go take pictures at like 4:50 a.m.
We got in the car and drove up the canyon and stopped in midway. We took a few pictures there and got breakfast at a gas station. Then we went and passed through Park city and went to salt lake. We took a few pictures there as well and then headed to the Draper Temple. It was around the time that they were doing to open house. I was so happy! A few years ago I remember when it was just a yellow sign that said, "Draper Temple, Property of the LDS church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints."
Three years or so later, there is this beautiful temple in its place. I had watched it get bigger with every few months. It was amazing. My family and I always drive up to salt lake, and from the freeway you get a lovely view of the temple.
SO, justin, tally, and I start taking pictures around the temple ( picture on left) and a lady comes up to us and asks us if we want to go inside.
I really really wanted to but we felt very under dressed. We were in our t-shirts and dirty pants (when you kneel down to take a pic. your knees get mud on them) I told her that we weren't exactly in temple clothes and she just smiled at us and told us to head into the church near by and then just go in.
The inside of this temple is beyond words. It is one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen. Every single room was just breath taking. At the end of the tour we sat in the sealing room. The feelings I had there were over whelming and our small "picture trip" had turned into an amazing spiritual experience. I am so thankful that that sweet lady invited us in. This "picture trip" is something I am going to remember for the rest of my life.
